It might be worth delaying the update.
Last week, Apple released macOS Monterey 12.2. MacBook users who installed the update immediately noticed a deterioration in laptop autonomy. In particular, excessive battery drain was observed in sleep mode – all 100% “fly away” overnight.
This has been reported by users on the MacRumors and Reddit forums, as well as on Twitter, but it is not yet clear how widespread the problem is .
Through the “Terminal” it was possible to find out that the battery of the MacBook began to run low due to connected Bluetooth accessories that often wake up the computer in sleep mode. And the issue affects both Intel-based Macs and M1-based Macs.
Users have reported that the issue goes away when they disable Bluetooth on the Mac or unpair all Bluetooth accessories. However, doing this every time before closing the laptop lid is clearly not the most convenient solution. It is worth waiting for an update that will fix the error.
