Enthusiasts have created an app for macOS that adds flashy effects to the MacBook Pro (2021). It is called Notchmeister and offers five different animations that are activated when the cursor approaches the “bangs”.
For example, the Glow effect lights up the cursor to show exactly where it is when it passes over a notch, while the Festive mode adds a miniature garland to the screen.
If you install the application on an old MacBook without a notch, Notchmeister will fix this flaw and add a bang – along with all the effects. The developers note that it looks best when using the dark theme of macOS.
This application has no practical use, but it is distributed free of charge through the Mac App Store and allows you to have at least a little fun, and as a maximum, prepare your laptop for New Year and remind yourself that the holidays are coming.
