WhatsApp will allow using one account on two smartphones

Last year, WhatsApp introduced the ability to connect up to four devices to a smartphone with your WhatsApp account, so that you can chat in messenger even when the phone is turned off. But in this mode, it was proposed to synchronize only computers, the web version of WhatsApp, or Portal smart home gadgets. Now this feature is also being tested for smartphones.

If you have two smartphones (for example, a main one and a work one), you can connect one of them to the WhatsApp account of the other using “Companion Mode”. This feature is currently in beta testing on both Android and iOS. This probably means that even different systems will not become an obstacle for the new mode to work.

According to the screenshot published by those who discovered the WABetaInfo function, when connecting a second smartphone to account, all WhatsApp data stored locally on the device will be deleted. In other words, you will not be able to use your main account if you connect in companion mode.

It is not yet known when this feature will be available in the stable version of WhatsApp – at least in test mode.
