WhatsApp is testing a paid subscription

In the beta version of WhatsApp, a mention of a new Premium subscription was found. The functions associated with it have been moved to a separate section of the menu, so even before the launch it became known what would be included in it.

Basically, these features are aimed at business clients of the messenger. In particular, WhatsApp Premium allows you to create a custom profile link that can be updated every three months. They will be in the format wa.me/selected_text. This will make it easier for the client to navigate to the chat: no need to enter a phone number.

Also, the subscription will allow you to use one account from 10 devices, so that several employees can manage one business account. Finally, WhatsApp Premium also opens up access to video calls for up to 32 participants.

All the features that are already in the application will remain free for users – a subscription will only expand the basic capabilities. Telegram has previously followed a similar path with its Premium subscription.

It is not yet known how much WhatsApp Premium will cost: in the beta, only banners and settings related to new functions are visible, but it is not yet possible to subscribe . The timing of its possible release has also not yet been announced.
