After a lot of testing, WhatsApp has finally made the transfer of chats from Android to iPhone available to all users. Previously, this required the use of paid third-party applications, or the loss of correspondence and media files when switching to a new system.
Now, everything is implemented natively using the Android app “Transfer to iOS” from Apple. There are a few conditions:
- You are going to use the same WhatsApp number on your iPhone as on your Android phone.
- iPhone must be new (or factory reset) .
- Both smartphones must be connected to a charger and the same Wi-Fi network (you can connect Android to an iPhone hotspot).
- iPhone must be running iOS 15.5 or later, both devices need to update WhatsApp to the latest version.
After that, on an Android smartphone, just open the Transfer to iOS application and select WhatsApp from the list of available data. Follow the instructions on the screen.
