Google extends support for Chrome for Windows 7 for another year

The browser will be updated as long as Microsoft maintains the system itself.

Google extended support for Chrome for Windows 7 for another year

Google originally planned to end support for Chrome for Windows 7 on July 15, 2021, but due to the pandemic, it was extended until January 15, 2022. Now the company has added another year to this period: as a result, support will end on January 15, 2023.

This coincides with the end of the official support period for Windows 7, which is a week earlier Microsoft announced. The standard Edge browser will also be supported until January 15, 2023, while the legacy Internet Explorer will stop receiving updates as early as June 15, 2022.

Google did not specify what level of support Chrome users should expect on Windows 7: perhaps we are only talking about bug fixes and security updates, while new features will be available only on current versions of the system.
