At a meeting of the government commission to determine the list of domestic of socially significant resources, the first two sites were chosen: “Gosuslugi” and “VKontakte”. This was announced by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications Alexander Khinshtein.
He noted: “Why Gosuslugi is understandable. As for VK, it is not only one of the largest domestic social networks, but also a “one stop shop” for users. More than 40,000 public pages of authorities and state institutions have already been placed here.
Khinshtein added that at the next meeting of the commission, the possibility of inclusion in the Odnoklassniki list, as well as a list of government sites, will be discussed.
< p> Access to socially significant resources in Russia should be provided free of charge, even with a negative balance. In April 2020, as part of a pilot project, it was decided to include almost 400 sites in this list, but later it was proposed to reduce their number. The final list is still being formed.
