You can return the familiar interface in a couple of clicks. na-mac-f1fc636.jpg” alt=”How to disable the colored background of the tab bar in Safari 15 on Mac” />
Apple has updated Safari not only for iPhone, but also for Mac – and it has not done here either without changes that not all users liked. If the search bar moved to the bottom of the screen in the mobile version of the browser, then the colored background of the control panel and open tabs was added on the desktop.

It turns on automatically after refresh and adjusts to the color of the site, which can be annoying if you frequently switch between tabs.
Fortunately, it's easy to remove. It is enough to open the browser settings (via Safari → “Settings”, or simultaneously press the keys ⌘ and ,) and uncheck the box next to “Display color in the tab bar”.
And that's it: you've got a familiar interface back without distracting color blobs.
