Windows 11 is testing desktop stickers and tablet mode

These changes may be part of the experimental feature rollout. i-rezhim-plansheta-966e806.jpg” alt=”Windows 11 is testing stickers for desktop and tablet mode” />

Microsoft seems to be working on a few new features in Windows 11 that the company hasn't talked about yet announced publicly. The developers found mentions of them in the latest test version of the system.

One of them is stickers for desktop wallpapers. The screenshots show that the user will be able to select a sticker from the personalization menu. It will persist even after changing the background image.

The Verge believes that stickers can be informative and provide an alternative to widgets, which currently cannot be pinned to the desktop.

Links to this feature in Windows 11 include policies regarding educational use. It is likely that stickers will become part of Windows 11 SE, designed for schoolchildren and students.

The second new feature found in the test build of the system could be part of tablet mode. We're talking about a new taskbar setting labeled “Automatically hide the taskbar when using the device as a tablet.”

Microsoft dropped most of its traditional tablet mode features in Windows 11, but the company planned to add a lot of gestures and quick actions in the canceled Windows 10X for dual screen devices. Therefore, it is possible that these features will return soon in anticipation of the launch of new hybrid devices.

And the third innovation discovered by the developers is a new “Sustainability” section in Windows 11 settings. It offers recommendations for energy saving and recycling options for the device.

Note that just the other day, Microsoft announced that it will be testing more experimental features in Windows 11. Not all of them will be available for public testing.
