Experts warn that 40% of ads selling access to Spotify and Netflix are published by scammers

Often, the cost of accounts with access starts from 20 rubles and depends on the seller and the duration of the “subscription”: a month, six months or a year.

Most often, sellers offer to join a foreign family account, for which they are asked to provide a login and password from the account to connect. Everything can go well and family access will be activated, but only for a day, so that the user makes sure that it works and pays for the service.

Often in such schemes, scammers can provide access to stolen accounts, the Kommersant source noted, close to one of the information security companies.

Kaspersky Lab cybersecurity expert Leonid Bezvershenko added: “The risks for a potential buyer are high: it is not known how attackers will dispose of user data. We do not rule out that most of the offers are scams, that is, an attempt to swindle money.”

In addition to threats and blackmail, attackers can offer the user to install a “reliable” program to bypass locks, which may well hack into his device and merge confidential information.

In addition, it is worth remembering that selling accounts is an illegal business, which is indicated in all user agreements of services.
