Yesterday, Apple introduced two new processors of its own production: M1 Pro and M1 Max. These are modified versions of last year's M1, which are equipped with the new MacBook Pro (2021). And the first results from Geekbench 5 show how impressive the top-end M1 Max chip is with 10 CPU cores and 32 GPU cores.
In the single-core test, it scored up to 1,749 points, and in the multi-core test, up to 12,422 points. The MacBook with M1 Pro scored 11,030 in the only test available in the multi-core test (but we are talking about a model with 32 GB of RAM, while the standard configuration has 16 GB).
For comparison, 13 The 1-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 and 8GB of RAM scores 1,714 and 7,740 points, respectively—that is, the M1 Max is almost twice as powerful. With these results, the new product bypasses all existing Macs in terms of performance, with the exception of the top Mac Pro and iMac models with 16- and 24-core Intel Xeon.
