To celebrate the 15th anniversary of its cloud storage, Microsoft has unveiled a new OneDrive Home web interface that will make it easier to work with the service.
The new Home section sits above the My Files section. Here, a list of files is opened before the user, ordered by the date of the last access. Above the list is a filter for the most popular document formats: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF.
Beside each file name, you can see the latest changes in collaboration mode. These can be new comments or mentions of the employee by colleagues. Under the main menu on the left is a quick access panel where you can post links to projects.
The updated OneDrive is still available to a limited number of users, Microsoft promises to release the final version for everyone “in the coming months”. The company believes that the new interface will improve work on joint projects remotely.
In addition, Microsoft has prepared another interesting innovation: the OneDrive mobile application will feature the “Stories” function, like in many social networks. So far, the innovation is available only in Australia, other users will not be able to try it until the end of this year.
