Following the update to Windows 11 Stable, Microsoft released a fresh preview build 22557. It's already available to Insiders in the Dev channel, and there are a lot of changes. Here are the main ones:

  • added the ability to drag (drag-and-drop) files and icons to the taskbar;
  • added the ability to create and pin folders with program icons in the Start menu;

  • Do Not Disturb added to Notification Center to completely disable pop-up notifications;
  • there is now an updated focus mode that disables alerts and eliminates other distractions;

  • New handy gestures have been added to control Start and Action Center on touch screens;
  • in the “Quick Access” section in “Explorer”, it became possible to pin not only folders, but also individual files;

  • also added syncing with OneDrive in File Explorer so you can see the sync status and cloud storage quota usage;
  • added the ability to conveniently drag windows of running programs to specific areas of Snap Layouts;
  • updated settings for sleep mode and turning off the screen of the device, as well as added recommendations for energy saving;

  • For PCs with multiple color profiles, a quick setting has been added to switch between them ;
  • a separate icon for the taskbar has appeared, signaling screen sharing;
  • a visual indication of a window on the taskbar that has been shared has been added;
  • “Dispatcher tasks” got a redesign with a new navigation bar, settings and dark theme support.
