WhatsApp plans to drop support for the outdated iOS 10 and iOS 11, which means that the messenger will not work on iPhone 5 and 5c smartphones. This was reported by the WABetaInfo resource.
The portal supplemented this leak with a screenshot of one of the latest versions of the application, which indicates the date of termination of support – October 24, 2022.
Anyone still using iOS 11 will need to update to version 12 of the system, if it is available for smartphone. These are models from iPhone 5S and newer.
Refusing support for older OS versions is a standard practice for instant messengers. It allows developers to implement new and convenient features in the application that may not work on devices that are already outdated.
