If you suddenly change your mind or mix up the buttons.

A useful innovation was found in the latest beta version of the WhatsApp messenger: the ability to cancel deleting a message. The corresponding button appears at the bottom of the application. It will hang for a few seconds after you hit delete, allowing the user to notice the error – and fix it.
This feature will be a lifesaver for those who regularly erase something important by mistake or click “Delete from me” instead of “Delete from everyone”.
So far, this feature is not even available to all users of the beta version of WhatsApp, so it's too early to talk about the timing of its public release.
