In the latest beta version of the WhatsApp messenger for iOS, we found a new privacy protection feature that allows you to hide from selected contacts the status of their last activity in the application.
In the privacy settings, you can select “My contacts except”, specifying those users who should not see when you were last online. The same options are available for displaying the profile photo – it can be hidden in the same way.
The ability to hide by hiding the status of the last visit is needed when you do not want anyone to know that you have recently been online and read messages.
In the current version of WhatsApp, you can hide the status either from everyone or only from those who are not in your contacts. The new settings are currently only available in the test version of the application, but should appear in the stable build later.
