WhatsApp announced new features for group chats

Whatsapp group chats have received a lot of improvements lately: the maximum number of participants has been increased to 512, post reactions have been added, voice messages have been improved, and administrators have been given more powers. But managing sprawling chats and group calls can still be difficult, so the messenger announced three new features at once:

  • Any user will be able to mute the microphone of another participant in a group call.
  • To a participant Groups can now write a private message without going back to the shared chat list.
  • There is an indicator that a new user has joined the call: no need to manually refresh the participant list to make sure everything is in place.< /li>
