The function of sending voice messages has already appeared in almost all social networks and instant messengers, but it is still not available in Gmail. Third-party developers decided to fill this gap by releasing a simple and very easy-to-use extension for Chrome called Vocal.
After installing Vocal, a small microphone icon will appear in the compose window to the right of the send button. With the first click on it, the browser will ask for access to the microphone for expansion, and after that it will immediately allow you to record a voice message.
A small window will appear on the screen with a countdown timer – after 3 seconds, recording starts. To finish press stop and after Attach to attach the audio to the email. Before that, you can also listen to the recording.
In the free version, you can dictate a message up to a minute long. It will be attached to the message as a regular MP3 audio file, so the recipient does not need to install the same extension or any additional programs to listen.
