Telegram introduces reactions, message translation and QR codes

The update is now available to everyone.

Telegram received the last update of 2021, which brought 6 new features and changes at once.

Reactions

In the settings, you can select emoji for a quick response to a message (activated by double-clicking on a message). Reactions will always be enabled in private chats, while admins can enable or disable this feature in group chats. They also choose which emoji will be available to the participants – for example, you can turn off everything except hearts, which will be used instead of likes.

Hidden text

Now in the text style selection menu there is an option “Hidden” – it allows you to hide part of the message. To view the hidden text, just click on it. To go to the style selection, select the entered text, go to the editor (“B/I” icon) and select “Hidden”.

Message Translation

Now you can translate any message into your language without leaving the messenger. To do this, just hold down the message and select “Translate” in the context menu. The function works on iOS 15 and later, there are no restrictions for Android.
