Register in Yandex
First you need to set up your mailbox on ” Yandex.Mail” if you don't have it yet. This requires a Yandex account, which will also provide access to the cloud Disk and other company services.

Set up email forwarding from Gmail
< p> The next step is to redirect all letters to Yandex.Mail. This action is performed at the same time for all new messages, as well as for those that have been stored in the Gmail box for a long time. That is, all your mail will be moved.
To do this, open the web version of Yandex.Mail, click on the settings gear in the upper right corner and select “Collection of mail from other mailboxes”.
Next, you will need to log in to Gmail, giving Yandex access to your letters. This can be done by entering your login and password, or through the authorization form by clicking on the red Gmail button.
After “Yandex.Mail” will begin a gradual transfer of your letters from Gmail, from new to old. This may take several days, depending on the quantity.
Copy Google contacts
In order for Yandex.Mail to recognize all your Google contacts, you first need to save them to a special vCard file, and only then add them to Yandex from it.
To do this, open the web version of Google Contacts ” and select “Export” from the left menu. The system prompts you to transfer:
- only pre-selected contacts;
- all saved contacts;
- who you often communicate with is everyone + those with whom you corresponded in the mail, but did not add to contacts.
Select the desired item and vCard format – save the file to your PC.
Transfer contacts to Yandex
To transfer data from a saved file, open Yandex.Mail, click on the settings gear on the right and select Contacts.
To check , whether it was possible to transfer contacts, in the top menu of services, click “More” and select “Contacts”. A list of them will open.
Now, when you enter the first characters of the name or mail of the addressee, Yandex will prompt you to select a contact from the saved ones – just like Gmail.
That's all – the contacts are in place, and emails will gradually appear in the inbox. It remains only to sort them, if necessary.
