In addition to being able to share your favorite GIFs, WhatsApp also allows you to convert videos and “live photos” from iPhone to GIF format. There are two ways to do this.
Via WhatsApp
- Open a chat with the desired user and click on the “+” button.
- Select Photo/Video format to open the gallery.
- Search the desired file and long-press it until the context menu appears.
- Click “Select as GIF”.
- If necessary, add a caption, and click the send icon.
- In the application “Photos” open the desired file.
- Click on the inscription Live on the left and select one of the proposed modes.
- After that, click on the icon “Share” and select WhatsApp.

You can send videos up to six seconds in a similar way: before sending, make sure that the GIF format is selected in the upper right corner, and not video.
