By default, iPhone puts the most recent photos on the cover of custom albums in the Photos app. If this does not suit you, in just a couple of seconds you can change the photo of the album. To do this:
- Open the album you want to change the cover of.
- Tap and hold on the photo you want to make the new cover.
- In the pop-up menu that appears, select Set as Cover Photo.
Done: now on The album has a new cover. To return to the default display of the most recent photo, remove the current cover from the album. After that, the photo can be returned.
This function only works with images that are in the album – you may need to move the photo before making it the title one. It's worth noting that this won't work with the “Recent” and “Favorites” albums – they will always have the newest photo on the cover.
