Google has announced a number of improvements to its proprietary Google Photos service on Android and iOS. There are three main innovations.
Library sorting
To make it easier to find photos, the developers will finally add sorting filters. With the click of a button, you can keep only one type of content on the screen: albums, shared albums, favorites, folders on the device, and so on.
A section “Import photos” will appear under the grid of albums, which will help you easily copy pictures from other services and devices.
New photo sharing section
The General tab will be refocused on sharing snapshots and albums. It will show your close contacts, shared content and sharing links.
Screenshot Access
< p>A shortcut will appear at the top of the photo grid for quick access to screenshots. It will appear right below your Memories whenever you take a new screenshot. By tapping, you can go to the folder with all the screenshots on the device.
Also on Android, when viewing a screenshot, a carousel of contextual suggestions for copying text, cropping, searching with the Google Lens, and so on will soon be displayed. These tips will help you perform one-tap actions with screenshots.
All of these updates will roll out to Android this week and will also be coming to iOS soon.
