They are already available to some users.
Google is starting to test a new design for the search engine home page. It adds Google Discovery style widget cards when using desktop search.
A total of six widgets are available, the content of which will adapt to the user's geolocation:
- Weather.
- Trends.
- What to see.
- Local events.
- News about COVID-19.
< li>Promotions.
Hovering over a specific widget reveals additional information. For example, the weather widget shows the forecast for the next three days, “What to see” shows three recommendations instead of one, and the stock widget shows the price change chart.
9to5Google notes that the editors found a new screen on two accounts – and it is displayed on all devices where these accounts are used. It looks like Google has once again started to roll out a new feature gradually to be able to test it before a mass release.
